Are Interpreterly's interpreters certified or licensed?
No. Interpreterly is an AI-powered language-assistance tool — not a certified or licensed interpreter service. We do not provide certified, qualified, or sworn human interpreters. Interpreterly is designed for routine, day-to-day business and front-desk conversations. For scenarios where a certified or qualified human interpreter is legally required — such as certain court proceedings, complex medical informed consent, ASL, or end-of-life conversations — you should continue to use a credentialed human interpreter service. Customers are responsible for determining their own legal and regulatory obligations.
What is Interpreterly and how does AI voice interpreter work on a phone call?
Interpreterly is a multilingual AI voice interpreter that joins your existing office phone line. You dial a number, conference in Interpreterly, and it provides real-time, two-way voice interpretation — currently available in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese, with more languages coming soon. No app, no hardware, no new vendor procurement. It runs on the BrainCX voice platform with audit-ready logging on every call.
How does Interpreterly compare to LanguageLine Solutions?
LanguageLine bills $3.95/min for audio (published rate) through human interpreters with 30–90 second connect times. Interpreterly replaces that with an AI interpreter that connects in under 5 seconds and bills a flat monthly subscription instead of per-minute. HIPAA + a signed BAA is included on Pro and available as an add-on on Scale. Most healthcare customers cut interpreter cost by 80–92% in month one while improving connect-time SLAs. * LanguageLine audio rate as of May 2026.
Is Interpreterly HIPAA compliant? Do you sign a BAA?
Yes. HIPAA — including a signed Business Associate Agreement, dedicated infrastructure, 42 CFR Part 2 controls for behavioral health, and a 12-month call archive — is included on Pro at no extra cost. Scale (multi-location) can add HIPAA + BAA as an add-on, with per-location compliance reports across sites.
How does Interpreterly compare to Stratus Video, Martti, Propio, Cyracom, GLOBO, and Boostlingo?
Legacy interpreter platforms (Stratus / AMN, Martti by UpHealth, Propio, Cyracom, GLOBO, Boostlingo) rely on human interpreter pools — useful for rare languages and complex consent, but slow, expensive, and dependent on interpreter availability. Interpreterly is a multilingual AI interpreter platform currently available in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese — the three highest-volume non-English languages for U.S. service businesses — where AI delivers faster connects, lower cost, and consistent quality. More languages are being added soon. Use Interpreterly for your daily volume, and keep a human OPI/VRI vendor for rare-language or complex-consent work.
Which languages does Interpreterly support?
Interpreterly is a multilingual AI interpreter platform. It currently supports three languages, deeply tuned for clinical, legal, and service-business vocabulary: Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese (Haitian Creole coming soon). These three cover the majority of non-English calls for U.S. clinics, law firms, dental practices, insurance agencies, and property managers today. For other languages, keep a traditional OPI vendor alongside Interpreterly.
Does Interpreterly satisfy Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act?
Yes. Every interpreted call produces a Section 1557 audit trail — timestamp, language pair, duration, and consent capture — that satisfies federal language-access documentation requirements under the ACA, CMS, and Joint Commission standards. Logs export to your EHR or compliance system on demand.
What does it replace — OPI, VRI, or in-person interpreters?
Interpreterly replaces over-the-phone interpreter (OPI) for routine clinical and front-desk calls. It complements video remote interpreter (VRI) and in-person interpreters, which remain appropriate for ASL, complex informed consent, behavioral health intake, and end-of-life conversations.
How fast can a clinic go live?
Under 15 minutes. Sign up, get your account number and passcode in 60 seconds, point your office line at Interpreterly, and place your first interpreted call. No IT project, no PBX integration, no procurement cycle.
What does Interpreterly cost vs traditional telephonic interpreter?
Starter is free for 30 days (60 minutes, no card), then $147/month for 500 minutes. Scale and Pro are flat monthly subscriptions for higher-volume single- and multi-location businesses — see the pricing page for current rates. Compare any of them to legacy per-minute OPI vendors at $1.50–$3.95/min with no monthly commitment discount.
Can I keep my existing phone number and PBX?
Yes. Interpreterly works as a conference-bridge agent on your existing line — Ring Central, 8x8, Vonage, Zoom Phone, Dialpad, on-prem PBX, or any SIP trunk. No porting, no rip-and-replace.
