Phone interpreter pricing

Interpreterly costs $147 to $1,397 per month depending on how many interpreted minutes and how many phone lines you need. Every plan is a flat monthly subscription with minutes included, so a 40-second scheduling call is not billed at a two to five minute minimum the way per-minute interpretation is. A free 60-minute trial runs for 30 days with no card.

What does an AI phone interpreter cost per month?

Interpreterly starts at $147 per month for 500 interpreted minutes on one line. Pro is $547 per month for 1,500 minutes across two lines running at once. Scale is $1,397 per month for 4,000 minutes across up to three lines. Minutes refresh monthly. Extra minutes bill at $0.75, $0.65, or $0.55 depending on your plan.

Price moves on two things, not one. Minutes, and how many interpreted conversations can run at the same time. A single front desk needs one line. A three-site dental group taking Spanish calls at three receptions at once needs three. That is the difference between Starter and Scale, and it is worth checking before you pick on minutes alone.

Plan Monthly Minutes included Rate per included minute Lines at once
Starter $147 500 $0.29 1
Pro $547 1,500 $0.36 2
Scale $1,397 4,000 $0.35 3

Starter carries the lowest rate per minute because it runs one line. Pro and Scale price concurrency as well as volume.

What is included in every plan?

Every paid plan includes:

  • Real-time two-way interpretation in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese
  • Your own phone number
  • Call transcripts
  • Full control of voice, greeting, and call pacing
  • Slack access to the team

There is no setup fee, no contract, and no per-minute meter on the minutes your plan includes.

The other party needs nothing. No app, no download, no hardware. You conference Interpreterly into the call you were already going to take.

How does flat monthly pricing compare to per-minute interpretation?

Per-minute interpretation bills every call at a minimum increment, commonly two to five minutes, so short calls cost the same as long ones. Published telephonic rates run roughly $1.50 to $3.95 per minute. Flat monthly pricing removes the minimum entirely. The gap is widest for front desks making many short calls, which is most front desks.

Here is the arithmetic on one realistic front desk. Assumptions are visible so you can swap in your own.

A clinic front desk taking 25 Spanish calls a day, averaging 90 seconds each, across 21 working days.

  Per-minute vendor Interpreterly Pro
Rate $3.95/min, 3-minute minimum $547/mo flat
Billed per 90-second call 3 minutes, $11.85 Actual 1.5 minutes
525 calls a month $6,221.25 $547.00
Minutes actually used 787.5 787.5 of 1,500

The per-minute column bills 1,575 minutes for 787.5 minutes of talking. Half of that invoice is the minimum, not the interpretation.

Run it against your own numbers with the interpretation cost calculator.

What happens if we use more minutes than our plan includes?

Extra minutes bill at $0.75 per minute on Starter, $0.65 on Pro, and $0.55 on Scale. There is no service cutoff and no surprise tier upgrade. Overage is still billed by the actual minute with no minimum increment, so a 40-second call over your allowance bills 40 seconds, not three minutes.

If overage becomes routine, moving up a plan is usually cheaper than paying it. Going from Starter to Pro adds 1,000 minutes for $400, which is $0.40 a minute against $0.75 in overage.

Which plan fits our call volume?

Count your interpreted calls per month, multiply by average call length, then check how many of those calls happen at the same time. Under 500 minutes on one line, take Starter. Up to 1,500 minutes or two simultaneous lines, take Pro. Up to 4,000 minutes or three lines, take Scale. Above that, book a call.

Rough shapes we see:

  • One clinic, one receptionist. Starter. 500 minutes covers roughly 330 calls at 90 seconds.
  • Multi-provider practice or a busy intake line. Pro. Two lines matters more than the minutes here, because intake and scheduling overlap.
  • Multi-site group, DSO, or a dealership with a BDC and an F&I desk. Scale.
  • Above 4,000 minutes, or you need the HIPAA agreement scoped in. Book a 15-minute call and we will size it against your actual call log.

Is there a free trial, and does it need a card?

The free trial gives you 60 interpreted minutes to use within 30 days, with no credit card. It runs on real calls with one approved caller and one phone number, and privacy protection is on by default. Call transcripts are kept for the trial. Upgrade before the trial ends if you want to keep your call history.

Can we get a HIPAA business associate agreement?

A HIPAA business associate agreement is available for organizations handling protected health information. It is listed as an add-on rather than bundled into the base price, so tell us during signup or on a call and it gets scoped with your plan. Interpreterly runs on the BrainCX voice platform with SOC 2 Type II controls, TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest, and US data residency.

Customer audio is not used for model training.

Can we cancel or change plans?

Yes. Plans are month to month with no contract and no cancellation fee. Paid plans bill immediately when you subscribe, and if you cancel you keep full access through the end of the period you have already paid for. Upgrades and downgrades take effect on your next billing cycle.

What Interpreterly does not replace

Interpreterly is an AI language-assistance tool. It is not a certified or licensed interpreter service and does not provide certified, qualified, or sworn human interpreters. It is built for routine business and front-desk conversations. Keep a credentialed human interpreter for the conversations that legally require one, including certain court proceedings, complex informed consent, and ASL.

FAQ

Common questions

How much does a phone interpreter cost per minute?
Published telephonic interpretation rates run roughly $1.50 to $3.95 per minute depending on language, hours, and volume. Most vendors also apply a minimum billing increment of two to five minutes per call, so a 30-second question bills at the minimum. Interpreterly bills a flat monthly subscription instead, from $147 per month.
Does Interpreterly charge per minute?
No, not on the minutes your plan includes. Plans are flat monthly with 500 to 4,000 interpreted minutes included. If you go past your allowance, extra minutes bill at $0.75 on Starter, $0.65 on Pro, and $0.55 on Scale, by the actual minute with no minimum increment.
Is there a setup fee or a contract?
No. There is no setup fee, no implementation charge, and no contract. Plans run month to month and you can cancel anytime, keeping access through the end of the period you have paid for. Most teams are live in under 2 minutes without an IT ticket.
What is the cheapest Interpreterly plan?
Starter, at $147 per month for 500 interpreted minutes on one phone line with up to five approved callers. That works out to about $0.29 per included minute. Before that, a free 60-minute trial runs for 30 days with no credit card.
Do you offer annual billing?
Yes. Switch the toggle on the pricing table to annual to see the discounted rate. Annual plans carry the same minutes, lines, and support as monthly.
Which languages are included in the price?
Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese are live and included in every plan at no extra cost. Haitian Creole is coming soon. Interpreterly is deeply tuned on a short list of languages rather than covering a long shallow one. For other languages, keep a traditional over-the-phone interpretation vendor alongside it.
Do we need an app or new phone system?
No. Interpreterly conferences into the line you already use, including RingCentral, 8x8, Vonage, Zoom Phone, Dialpad, an on-prem PBX, or any SIP trunk. There is no porting and no replacement. The other party on the call needs no app, no download, and no hardware.
Does the price include HIPAA coverage?
A HIPAA business associate agreement is available as an add-on rather than included in the base price. Raise it during signup or on a call and it gets scoped with your plan. Interpreterly runs with SOC 2 Type II controls, encryption in transit and at rest, and US data residency.
